Lead Singer Adam Duritz rocks his way through an evening in which poetry seems to explode from the band's repertoire of blues/rock/country hits. Fresh off the release of their greatest hits album Films About Ghosts (taken from a line in the song 'Mrs. Potter's Lullaby'), the band reflects on its 10-year history in a Soundstage episode that highlights the iconic 'Mr.
Jones,' along with other up-tempo tunes including 'Hangin' Around,' 'Rain King' and 'Mrs. Potter's Lullaby.'
Duritz slows down in the mournful rendition of 'A Long December' but reinvigorates the mood with the rootsy 'American Girls.' Other hits featured include 'Recovering the Satellites,' and 'She Don't Want Nobody Near.' With raw emotion and smooth flow, Katie Kate transcends genres and expectations more than most artists in Seattle. One of the greatest and most accomplished artists of all time, Pharrell Williams formed the duo The Neptunes in 1994, producing soul, hip hop and R & B. He created the groundbreaking N.
E. R. D group, which made a mix of rock, funk and hip hop, released his first solo album 'In My Mind' in 2006 and definitely consecrated himself with his second album, 'Girl', released in 2014. But it was the presentation at the traditional Glastonbury festival in 2015 that became the consecration and summary of Williams' career. 'The crowd did not stop singing my song, I performed twice,' said Pharrel; This was his debut at Glastonbury as a solo artist with a hit set on the Pyramid Stage; Had previously played the festival as a member of their N.
E. R. D group, but this time, thousands sang their famous hits, including Frontin, Gust of Wind and Lose Yourself to Dance, in a fun show where British girls climbed on stage to dance a medley from his former group. In addition to his own successes, he played tracks he produced, such as Gwen Stefani's 'Hollaback Girl', Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' and Snoop Dogg's 'Drop It Like It's Hot', not to mention the 'Get Lucky' With Daft Punk.
A historical and complete show that enshrines an artist who points out the trends of the future of pop music! Before New Zealander Russell Crowe became an Oscar-winning Hollywood heavyweight, he was a guy in a band writing songs about his parents, his politics and his sweetheart (and now wife), Danielle.
Today, Crowe continues his first passion (he wrote his first song at age 6) with the band 30 Odd Foot of Grunts, or TOFOG - the name for a sound effect that Crowe heard while working on the set of the 1995 film, Virtuosity. Together since the late '80's Crowe and his band mates give a performance that features the bravado-stripped, engaging and garrulous Crowe along with the rocking, carefree, and guitar infused Grunts. Crowe's baritone is deep as he sings songs written for his wife 'Inside Your Eyes,' along with the song 'Swallow My Gift' a tune he wrote in response to critics who over-scrutinize his music. The band features other songs off their recent album Other Ways of Speaking including 'Never Be Alone Again,' 'What's Her Name?' And 'Charlie's Song.' Crowe's cover of 'Ring of Fire' reveals the rough-edge rock that the band builds from while also hinting at their blues, folk and pop influences. The highlight of the evening comes in the form of an onstage duet with country-pop icon Kris Kristofferson.
TOFOG and Crowe cover the hits 'Me and Bobby McGee,' originally sung by Janis Joplin, and Kris' 'Sunday Morning Coming Down,' recorded by Johnny Cash. On his own, Kristofferson performs hits that highlight his philosophical lyricism and poignant arrangements including 'The Circle,' 'A Moment of Forever' and 'Help Me Make It Through The Night.' Adam Jensen is an award-winning recording artist, songwriter and producer from Boston, MA. Formerly signed to Toucan Cove Records (Universal) and known as “Mission Hill,” Jensen has made a name for himself with a commitment to his songwriting craft and relentless gigging which includes dates all over the world and opening for artists such as Kid Rock, Train, Tim Reynolds, Third Eye Blind and many more. This was an independent, self-release. In March 2011 Japan was beset by a huge earthquake, a monstrous tsunami and the subsequent meltdown of the Fukushima nuclear plant. In the autumn of 2011, despite advice to the contrary, Aerosmith brought their 'Back On The Road' tour to Japan, a country with which they'd always had a special relationship. The Japanese fans came out in their droves and Aerosmith responded with some of the finest gigs of their distinguished career.
This film follows the band on that tour combining full length live tracks with behind the scenes footage which is at times touching and emotional and at others humorous and insightful. More than anything else it demonstrates the Japanese fans' love affair with Aerosmith and their music.
